Welcome to Mote Runners of Maidstone.
If you’ve come this far you are obviously interested in running so we immediately have something in common !!
Our running club was formed in 2019 to reflect our ethos and culture, firmly rooted in the belief that running should be fun. Whatever level you run at and whatever your reasons for running, you have the best chance of achieving your goals in a friendly and supportive club.
Over the last year our membership has grown steadily and over half of our members are ladies. We believe this is a reflection of our moto ‘no one gets left behind’.
Our Tuesday and Thursday evening club runs cater for all abilities, ranging from an entry level walk/jog (3k) to a longer routes, typically 5k, 7k and 10k.
Why not come along and give us a try. Don’t worry about your pace or not knowing the route. No-one gets left behind and no-one has to run alone. After the run, enjoy refreshments with us in the Clubhouse which has a fully licensed bar and also sells snacks. The pick and mix sweets are a firm favourite…!
Club Facilities
A warm welcome awaits every new and prospective member every Tuesday where we meet at The Mote cricket pavilion in Maidstone. The entrance is along Willow Way (next to the squash club). There is free parking and we have use of the pavilion where there is a licensed bar and toilet facilities.
Membership
We are always pleased to welcome new members and being part of a club adds a new dimension to your running. It’s also much more fun running in a group. Membership costs just £20 a year, if you are interested in finding out more come along on a Tuesday or Thursday night at about 7pm and introduce yourself to someone in the pavilion and we will explain a bit about what we do or use our contact form to email us with your queries. We fully appreciate that it can be a bit daunting joining a running club (everyone will be so fast) but this is not the case with Mote Runners, we welcome everyone and ensure that no one ever runs alone or gets left behind. Shirts are available at the clubhouse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, we have a stock of mens sizes S to XLL and ladies sizes XS to XLL at a cost of £22 per shirt.
