Club Runs

Tuesday is are our club run evening, we meet from 7:00pm, warm up starts at 7:05 and run at 7.10pm from The Mote Cricket Club pavilion along Willow Way (next to the squash club) in Maidstone.

Thursday is our training evening (members only) where we provide a range of sessions including speed work, hill reps and intervals.

As a club we appreciate that people run for many different reasons but whatever your reason for running we provide a safe regular run with good company. There is always a mix of people running at different speeds and various distances (short to long) and pace (slow to fast). We are fortunate to have Mote Park right on our doorstep and make full use of this in the summer. In the winter, it’s generally road running and reflective tops need to be worn. Come along on a Tuesday evening and try us out, you will receive a warm welcome from Mote Runners.


0-5K Running Course

Have you ever wanted to start running and need some inspiration

Join the Mote Runners 0-5k course.

Starts on Tuesday 6th June 2023, meeting at the Mote Cricket Club at 7pm for a 7.15pm start.

The idea behind our 12 week 0-5K course is to support you in starting a programme of walking and jogging when perhaps you are not used to exercise, or have had a long break from running. 

This will gradually condition your body to build up to a five-kilometre run/jog and encourages a slower, more manageable start to exercise because it’s broken down into achievable bite-size steps which means you will be making good weekly progress.

We also understand, first-hand, how daunting that first run can be and the challenges of sticking to a programme. But please be reassured Mote Runners is a friendly running club that caters for all levels of runner, and would like to encourage you to have the confidence come along and join us. 

These sessions are also very much a social occasion, and we hope you’ll make new friends and meet ‘buddies’ to run with in the club and independently. 

The course is run and supported by a fully qualified coach and volunteers from the club.

At the end of the 12 week course we invite you to celebrate with Mote Runners at the local Parkrun (and of course with some post run drinks!). 

Once you have completed the course, we encourage you all to come along and join in with the main group runs on Tuesday evenings.

There is no need to register, just come along on the night. There will be small cost of £10 for the full 12-week programme, however if you then wish to join the club you will receive discounted membership of just £5.
